Customer Review: Great glasses and zero breakage during shipment
Summary: 5 Stars

These glasses shipped from PA to Seattle through East Coast storms without breakage (the tracking site indicated a delay due to a natural disaster). Their trick is to pack the retail box surrounded by air bladders in a much larger box. Seemed to work well.

The glasses themselves are great. I've tested them with a couple of Cabs, an Merlot, some Zins, a Sangiovese, a Tempranillo, and a Syrah-Mourvedre blend. The glasses were appropriate enough for just about all of them. I did find them a bit better with New World styled wines than with Old World styles. The pungent nose the glasses develop was a bit over the top for the Bordeaux I tried it with, and it gave a Cotes du Rhone I tried a more unctuous feel than a more open glass I have. The glasses were right on for an old-vine Dry Creek Zin I tried and with an Alexander Valley merlot.

The visible quality of the crystal is really quite good. The imperfections are not glaring. The balance of the glasses is great. The rim is appropriately thin.

I think anyone would find these perfect for everyday glasses, and if your standard wine is a North Coastal Californian Zin, Cab, or Merlot, you'll probably find these as good as anything.

Customer Review: Easy to break
Summary: 2 Stars

Nice glasses, but because they are so thin, they are extremely easy to break. I bought a set of six at Christmas, I have three left just one month later. Two have snapped while hand cleaning, I can't remember why the other one broke. Way too fragile...

Customer Review: Pretty glasses, nice price, but they are irregulars
Summary: 3 Stars

I got these glasses for a Christmas present on a very good 2-for-1 deal. They are very elegant looking-- and very fragile. I am not a frequent breaker of wine glasses, but the first day one just broke in my hands while I was gently hand washing it. The glasses are definitely irregulars. If you look at them closely, the shapes vary slightly, and running my hands along the sides I noticed that some are a bit warped. I am not at all disappointed, as I feel that especially with the 2-for-1, the price was excellent. But if you think you are getting top quality stemware for this price, you will not be thrilled.

Customer Review: Fine glassware
Summary: 4 Stars

These glass are thin and delicate. The price is awsome (especially with a 2 for 1 deal) They look great! I'm not a wine snob enough to buy into the taste better argument though.

While they are marketed as practical everyday glasses you can put in the dish washer, I don't think that's accurate. While the price is for every day, these are glasses for fine dinning. Use these when the "good china" comes out of the cupboard.

I haven't had a problem breaking these glasses, but given their thin construction, I can see how a good solid toast could break them (With respect to the other reviewer, solid to one person is light to another particularly after drinking some wine.) I have some crystal glasses that are solid, but tipping them over on my tile counter will definitely break them.

Different people handle things with relative amounts of care. Some people *think* they have a light touch, but don't really. If you own things considered fragile and haven't broken them, you'll probably have no problems. If you things break on you regularly and you don't know why, these glasses are not for you.

Customer Review: Greatly Exceeds Expectations
Summary: 5 Stars

I was interested in an alternative to my expensive Riedel crystal glasses. I often take fine wine on the road and want to ensure that I have the proper glasses to enhance the experience for myself and others. Too often, they broke in transportation or at the event and the cost was adding up. When the two for one offer popped up I thought why not give it a try; these would become my disposable glasses. The special offer price worked out to less than $5 per glass. I was certainly surprised when these arrived and I washed them. They are fine glasses that I now prefer to the Riedel, (Vinum series) irregardless of the price. (And the price difference is significantly in my favor with the special offer.) One was slightly imperfect in the lower portion/ bowl, but nothing too concerning. Sizewise, they were a tad smaller/ less voluminous than the Reidel, but again, no big deal. I am very pleased and am likely to order another set while the special offer (6 red and 6 white for $39.99) is still in force. If not, for the same price, I'd select these German crystal glasses over the Austrian Riedel Vinum series glasses.
